Metal leaf is a thin sheet of metal designed to create gold, silver, or copper effects on various surfaces. The gilding leaf from the Italian company Giusto Manetti Battiloro is ideal for restoration and finishing work on icons.
It is available as loose sheets or transfer gold in different sizes, thicknesses, and colors, and is fixed using poliments and mixtions. The transfer or loose gold from Giusto Manetti Battiloro is 22 or 23 karats. The set includes 25 sheets measuring 8×8 cm, stored in a compact booklet with special paper that does not damage the gold surface.
Metal leaf (schlagmetal) is available in sets of 25 or 100 sheets in sizes 16×16 cm and 14×14 cm, in gold, silver, or copper.
